Background Check Requirements
When completing a background check, applicants will typically be asked to provide the following documentation. The background check will be completed by HireRight, Samuel’s third-party partner.
Salaried Role in Canada
- One verification of your education
- Two verifications of previous employment
- Two professional references (Grade 10 and above)
- One criminal record check (using RCMP database)
- We try to e-verify each applicant’s identity, but sometimes this will need to be verified through two pieces of ID if they don’t pass the e-verification process
- In some cases, a professional designation verification and/or a credit check may also be required
Hourly and Driver Roles in Canada
- One verification of previous employment (skilled positions)
- One criminal record check (using RCMP database)

- In some cases, GSEC (for locations with government contracts) and/or a credit check may also be required
Hourly Role in United States

- Drug test
- Criminal Felony & Misdemeanor search, based on counties candidate has lived in
- Widescreen National Criminal search
- In some cases, a physical and/or audiogram may also be required
Drivers in the United States
- Drug and alcohol clearinghouse
- Department of Transportation physical
- Department of Transportation drug test
- Motor Vehicle records check
- Department of Transportation employment & drug/alcohol verification
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration pre-employment screening
- Criminal Felony & Misdemeanor search, based on counties applicant has lived in
- Widescreen National Criminal search
