At Sierra Aluminum, we offer two types of in-house thermal improvements. These include the pour and de-bridge and insulating strut systems.

Pour and De-Bridge: An extrusion is created with a pocket. A two-part liquid polyurethane, which rapidly cures to a solid, is poured into this pocket. After the polyurethane cures, the bottom aluminum section of the pocket is cut way. The profile has effectively been de-bridged, leaving two separate profiles joined by a piece of plastic. Should your application require it, we can skip de-bridge.

Insulating Strut: Two extrusions are created, each with at least two small cavities. In these cavities, a glass reinforced nylon strut is inserted. The strut is then rolled in place joining the two aluminum profiles.
