Equally important, the right tool results in properly secured finished goods. At Samuel PSG, we can guide you to the solution that will fulfill your packaging needs.

Samuel PSG offers a complete line of manual, pneumatic, and battery powered hand tools for steel and plastic strapping. Our comprehensive range provides a tool for every type of user, from light industrial usage with low volumes to high output heavy industry usage. No matter the industry or application, our sales specialists can recommend a tool that is designed for the unique demands of your products.

Plastic Strapping Manual Tools

Plastic strapping hand tools come in several configurations. Non-powered (manual) plastic hand tools include tensioners and sealers. The tensioners are available in feed wheel and windlass. The plastic sealer hand tools are available for smooth and serrated seals. These tools require the use of a seal in order to seal the strapping.

Crimp Sealer

This type of sealer is used for plastic strapping. The sealer squeezes the seal to crimp the seal, holding the strap in place. Smooth seals are used with polypropylene and serrated seals are used with polyester.

Feedwheel Tensioners

These tensioners are generally used on flat surfaces. With unlimited take-up, the strapping is pulled through the tool until the desired tension is obtained.

Windlass Tensioner

These tools are used for heavy tensioning applications such as rail car or truck loading. The strap passes through the slotted windlass drum for heavy tension.

Plastic Strapping Power Tools

Plastic strapping power tools are available in battery and pneumatic configurations. These plastic tools allow the strapping to be automatically tensioned and sealed without a seal. The plastic battery tool works on a two button system in which the first button does the tensioning and the second button seamlessly seals the strap. The pneumatic power tool works in the same way.

Sealless Combination

The sealless system enables you to perform tensioning, sealing and cutting in one simple operation. This is all done without the need of seal.

Steel Strapping Manual Tools

Non-powered (manual) steel hand tools include tensioners, sealers and combination tools. Tensioners are available in feedwheel, push and windlass set ups. The steel sealer hand tools are available for open and push seals and are set up front or side action. These tools require the use of a seal in order to seal the strapping. Combination tools both tension and seal the strapping without the use of a seal.

Feedwheel Tensioners

These tensioners are generally used on flat surfaces. With unlimited take-up, the strapping is pulled through the tool until the desired tension is obtained.

Heavy Duty Sealers

Ruggedly built for use with heavy duty or high tensile steel applications. These sealers are usually used with push or thread-on type seals.

Push Tensioners

These tools are for use on irregular shaped surfaces. Using push-type seals, the tensioner pushes against the seal without any part of the tool coming between the strap and the package.

Sealless Combination

The sealless system enables you to perform tensioning, sealing and cutting in one simple operation. This is all done without the need of a seal.

Standard Duty Sealers

Double notch down-cut sealers yield high joint efficiency. They are usually used with feedwheel type tensioners on regular shaped packages.

Windlass Tensioner

These tools are used for heavy tensioning applications such as rail cars or truck loading. The strap passes through the slotted windlass drum for heavy tension.

Steel Strapping Power Tools

Steel strapping power tools are pneumatic and come in a variety of set ups. There are tensioners, sealers, combination with seals and combination sealless. The steel power tools use open and push seals. The tensioner and sealer work together to complete the strapping cycle and require a seal. One type of steel combination tool tensions and seals and requires using a seal. The other type of steel combination tool is sealless and allows the strapping to be automatically tensioned and sealed without a seal.

Pneumatic Tensioners

With speed and ease of operation, these tools feature reversing or non-reversing motors with unlimited feedwheel take-up.

Sealless Combination

The sealless system enables you to perform tensioning, sealing and cutting in one simple operation. This is all done without the need of a seal.
