Baling Wire is a type of wire used for everything from mending fences to manually binding rectangular bales of hay, straw, or cut grass.  It is also used to band together corrugated cardboard, paper, textiles, aluminum and other materials that are processed in the recycling industry. Baling Wire is also commonly used in many non-agricultural applications like in the recycling industry.

Cord and woven strapping are available in several constructions. Since this system uses buckles for a joint, cord and woven strapping can have an overall, larger system strength than steel banding. Cord polyester strapping also has a higher elongation than other strapping systems, which gives it an ideal memory for sea and rail shipments. Cord and woven polyester straps are light and soft, making them a safer alternative to steel banding.

There are a number of alternative ways to secure plastic strap including:wire buckles, plastic buckles, metal seal (similar to steel seals above), heat seal and friction seal

Polyester's unique physical qualities make it one of the best strapping materials to use for securing any type of palletized or unitized load. Depending on the size of steel strapping currently being used, polyester strapping can provide up to a 25% savings in strapping costs. Polyester can eliminate the need for metal seals in certain applications, which provides additional savings and reduces product damage that might occur through the use of other packaging alternatives.

Elongation Recovery

Provides approx. 2% elongation at normal work tension, which allows the materials to stretch. The strapping will recover this elongation however, keeping the strapping tight around the package.

Moisture & UV Resistant

Since it is plastic, it is moisture resistant and therefore unaffected by rusting that might occur with other packaging alternatives which may stain or affect the quality of your product before it gets to its destination. Our polyester strap is also UV resistant to protect strapping from long periods in the sun.

Recycling of Polyester Strap

Polyester strapping can be easily recycled by being cut into small pieces and accumulated in clean containers for recycling.

Polypropylene strapping is the most economical of all strapping material due to its light weight and versatility. It is available in a wide variety of sizes and gauges and offers the greatest elongation of any strapping type, along with good initial recovery characteristics. Samuel polypropylene can be heat sealed with a joint efficiency of 70-80% and is very flexible.

Samuel steel strapping is available in a wide range of sizes and gauges to accommodate your strapping requirements. Our edge conditioned strapping ensures a safe, rounded edge that is problem free during application. The standard coil weight is 100 lbs.

High Tensile Steel Strapping

Manufactured for optimum results in every application. Cold rolled steel of a high carbon and manganese analysis is heat treated to ensure uniform tensile and elongation characteristics.

Jumbo Coils

For high volume applications, certain strap sizes are available in standard jumbo coils, ranging in weight from 1,000-2,000 lbs. Additional coil sizes are available on a custom order basis.

Painted Finish

A hard baked on glass enamel paint is applied to both sides and edges to help the flow characteristics of the steel strap moving through the equipment and preventing rust. The standard color is black.

Standard Duty Steel Strapping

Manufactured to meet rigid quality specifications and close tolerances, this strapping is ideal for all general applications and is available in a number of different finishes.

Ultra Ten Steel Strapping

Specifically developed to provide our customers with a high quality, cost effective alternative to high carbon high tensile AAR-33 strapping. Ultra Ten is not suitable for applications such as open-top car loading, and as such, has no AAR marking.

Wax Coated Finish

All finishes are treated with a hard wax coating, a special Samuel "hot dip" process. This lubrication allows the strapping to flow smoothly in automatic machines, tools and around corners of all products, skids, crates and cartons.

Zinc Finish

Commonly used for prolonged outside storage, this finish offers greater rust resistance than regular painted material.
