Samuel, Son & Co., Acquisition Signals Intent to Take on Global Aerospace Market

Samuel, Son & Co. today announced a new addition to its family of companies, further increasing its focus on high, value-add metals businesses, with a particular focus on the aerospace sector. Samuel has acquired Metal Spinners Holdings, which includes Missouri Metals of St. Louis, Missouri and Metal Spinners, with plants in Indiana, Illinois and Texas.

Missouri Metals is a leading manufacturer of precision components and assemblies for both the aerospace and power generation industries for its global customers. Metal Spinners is an industry leader in supplying metal spinning, hydroforming, deep drawing and other specialized metal formed products for air handling, energy, agriculture and other industrial market segments. Both businesses have a long-standing reputation for providing unmatched quality, reliability and the highest level of customer service.

Samuel Manufacturing President Rod Crawford says today's move represents a further and important step in Samuel's growth strategy for the aerospace market. “With this acquisition, Samuel is broadening our metal-forming capabilities, and is positioning both Missouri Metals and Metal Spinners for significant growth by leveraging our extensive customer relationships in key targeted markets, such as aerospace."

Crawford announced that Metal Spinners Holdings CEO Olin Wiland will remain as Group President for the business which will operate as a separate group within Samuel's manufacturing division.

Wiland says he is excited for Missouri Metals and Metal Spinners to be joining the Samuel family.
