Samuel, Son & Co. announces integration of Steel Pickling business units

Mississauga, ON,

Samuel, Son & Co. is pleased to announce the integration of two business units: Samuel Steel Pickling Company in Ohio and Nelson Steel in Ontario to allow for improved communications and greater ease in testing of new pickling technologies.

Rick Snyder has been named President of the combined operations, which will be known as Samuel Steel Pickling Group.

Rod Crawford, President of Samuel’s Manufacturing businesses, says the move will benefit customers. “Nelson Steel, which was previously part of Samuel’s service center operations, is a natural fit with Samuel’s steel pickling operations. This new structure will help leverage our investments in research and development which is going to mean faster turnaround for customers.”

Snyder’s new responsibilities include the U.S. and Canadian steel pickling operations as well as oversight of the Nelson Steel Technology Group which designs and supplies new pickling lines and retrofits existing processing sections to deliver more efficient pickling lines for customers around the world.

Along with this move, Mike Andrzejewski, has been named as General Manager, Samuel Steel Pickling Company, with responsibility for the Cleveland and Twinsburg, Ohio operations. Ralph Benincasa, General Manager of steel pickling operations in Stoney Creek, Ontario, and Graham Oakley, General Manager, Nelson Steel Technology Group now report to Rick Snyder.
