Supporting A “Tee-riffic” Cause

Recently, our Packaging team in Fort Mill, SC, participated in a charity TopGolf Competition event for Children’s Attention Home, to provide nurturing care, and life-changing services for youth and families in need.

The Attention Home is located in York County and has provides temporary shelter for over 8,500 children from all counties in South Carolina since 1970.

We spoke with Julie Wohrer, Customer Service Manager, who volunteers for the organization and was volunteering the night of the golf tournament about the event and the importance of the charity. “I was a Bay Ambassador the night of the golf competition,” she says. “Each of the Golf Teams had a bay to enjoy the event in and I was there to give more information about charity, make connections, and guide folks to our Interactive Experience – and of course, to make sure all the guests had a great time”

Outside of the golf competition, guests also participated in a Hole-In-One contest, a fajita bar and got to enjoy live music. “The interactive experience gave each guest the opportunity to see what like was like for the a few of the children at the home prior to arriving,” Julie explains. “This was done by walking through displays, and at the end, the youth’s name and photo is revealed to show the basis of the story.”

Julie shares the importance of this charity telling us that it’s a way to give back to young kids and adults who “have already been given an unfair start at life. These are amazing kids that want to do and overcome great things with their lives, and we get the opportunity to help shape that, even if in the smallest way.”
