Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Work with Operations Team to develop and maintain costing / capacity model for facility based on current performance data. 
  • Schedule regular business review meetings with Operations Team to review Sales leads on potential new business and determine feasibility of pursuing for current or new equipment requirements. 
  • Support Automotive Sales Team with quoting new and existing business by providing capability and capacity feedback, as well as, costing information for processing, packaging and freight as requested.
  • Represent Operations in Customer meetings for quote reviews and facility visits.
  • Determine and coordinate the various levels of service each customer requires and assign to appropriate Customer Service Representative ensuring account is maintained at proper levels to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Supports the Advanced Process and Quality Planning (APQP) Process, by receiving initial forms from the Sales Team for all new parts for both new and existing customers.  Once received and logged, will setup meeting with the Operations APQP Team to ensure requests are reviewed and processed back to the Sales Team in a timely manner.
  • Be the voice of the customer within the Operations Team, communicating customer needs and special service requirements by providing clear and concise information on internal documentation.
  • Process Champion for reporting Sales, Customer Service and Inventory performance to target at Monthly Management Review meetings.  Provide Corrective Action Plans for any missed targets by working with team.
  • Supervise, train and motivate reports by communicating and monitoring performance expectations to actual performance on a regular basis.  Conduct Annual reviews for employees in timely and effective manner.
  • Participates in “Continuous Improvement Projects" and Cost Reduction workshops with customers and Sales Team.
  • Participates with internal “Continuous Improvement Projects" with Operation personnel as required.
  • Prepare yearly budgets, goals and objectives, key performance indicators and monitor on a weekly/monthly basis versus plan.
  • Working with Inventory Coordinator monitor overall inventory performance versus company targets. Follow-up regarding any specific customer adjustments required. Support Annual Physical Inventory and all Customer Inventories as required.
  • Ensure Inventory Coordinator and Quality Team disposition material from the mills or customer in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Manage the Plant Scheduler ensuring jobs are planned in the most efficient manner in order to meet customer requirements and minimize line downtime.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts with Sales and Operations teams in order to provide optimum customer service and maintain branch profitability.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with the designated ISO/TS16949 responsibilities, environmental management system, health & safety and company rules and guidelines.
  • Ensures company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors.  Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required at all times
  • Maintains a high standard of general housekeeping consistent with 5S standards
  • Strives for continuous improvement

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-econdary Diploma/Degree in Business Administration required
  • 5-10 years of job related experience in Automotive Sector environment
  • Previous exposure to Metal Processing industry would be a plus.
