Job Description:

Perform preventive maintenance, assigned project work, and emergency repairs on production equipment.  Maintain neat and accurate records, and follow the directives of the Maintenance Supervisor to assure that each line and all major equipment are operating at the safest and most efficient levels to maximize production, quality, and customer satisfaction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of production equipment including looking for excessive wear, excessive noise or vibration, proper evidence of lubrication, cracked or broken welds, evidence of over temperature of bearings, proper operation of moving mechanical parts, and proper determination of press dead cycle times on all presses
  • Safely and proficiently use standard hand tools
  • Proper and safe operation of forklift/towmotor
  • Respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner
  • Follow and reinforce established safety protocol, including machine lockout tag out
  • Troubleshoot issues and participate in root cause analysis
  • Identify and resolve recurring maintenance issues
  • Solicit feedback from machine operators to assist in the diagnosis of issues
  • Coordinate activities with other maintenance staff members as needed
  • Conduct Preventative Maintenance including printing out weekly schedules.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must own basic set of tools.
  • Physical ability to perform duties that involve standing, stooping, lifting, bending, walking, stretching, pulling and pushing.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50
  • Proper metal cutting and welding techniques including all safety applications.
  • Drilling and tapping techniques.
  • Understanding of Automatic, standard, and hydrostatic/hydraulic transmissions used in motorized equipment.
  • Experience with PLC's, HMI's, Drives and Electrical Instrumentation equipment.
  • Control wiring and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Wiring techniques including rigid and EMT conduit installation, wire pulling and termination skills.
  • Understanding and detailed working knowledge of drive train and power transmission systems.
  • Work from drawings, prints, manuals, and verbal instructions.
  • Working knowledge of combustion systems.
  • Able to perform job hazard analysis.
  • Perform complex electrical and hydraulic mechanical troubleshooting. 
  • Ability to use Standard English grammar to prepare trouble reports.
  • Wire panels, switches, control boards, electronic circuit boards, motors, pumps and other mechanisms. 
  • Availability to work holidays, weekends and emergencies.
  • Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with vendors and contractors.
  • Performance driven, attention to detail, solutions oriented and analytical.
