My name is Christie Magin and I recently joined Samuel as an Inside Sales Representative – I absolutely love it. Every day I am presented with new challenges and opportunities to interact with different people – from writing up quotes and entering work orders to getting to know my customers and providing them with quality products and solutions. I love building these relationships and knowing that the longer I work here, the better I will be at partnering with them to achieve success.
Though I have only worked at the Rochester, NY branch for a short time, I have been made to feel like an integral part of the team. I have wonderful support from my team members, and I love knowing that my supervisor is helping me become the best sales representative I can be. She takes time out of her busy schedule to work with me, answer all of my questions and give me wonderful advice, feedback and encouragement.
I really love working for such a wonderful company and with all of the advancement opportunities available to me, I know that this is only the beginning of my career at Samuel.

Working at Samuel can be a roller coaster where one day is very different from the next; there’s never a dull moment! This is what I love most about my job. Most people don’t think accounting is exciting, but it’s ever-changing. Whether it’s the hustle and bustle of month-end close activities, interacting with internal and external auditors, or providing financial information/analysis to our internal customers there’s always so much to do.
I love working for Samuel because of the growth I have been able to experience. In previous jobs, I would hit a “ceiling” and there was no true path/opportunity for advancement. Here at Samuel, however, I have been able to continue learning and advancing my career. I report to some great people and they have been instrumental in my learning and growth. I think that’s what really sets Samuel apart from other employers – their true dedication to developing their employees.

My name is Barbara Di Filippo and I’m the Customer Service Supervisor, Central Canada for the Samuel Packaging Systems Group. I have worked for Samuel for the past 17 years and these have been the very best years of my career. Each morning when I drive to work I see many of our “Big Red“ Samuel trucks on the highway – and it’s wonderful to know that I’m part of this great company.
My days are filled with passion for our business, joy and laughter with the Customer Service team and a strong desire to provide our customers with the very best service. I find great joy in coming to work each day and being surrounded by such wonderful people. The friendships and comradery I have with my fellow Samuel coworkers are a true symbol of the Samuel motto – “It’s not just business… It’s family.”
The Customer Service department is the first point of contact for Samuel customers – we are the relationship builders – and it’s up to us to care for our customers’ needs. That’s why we always process orders in a caring manner. We pay attention to every little detail and make it a priority to respond to urgent requests as quickly as possible. Our customers’ success is our business.
During my years with the Samuel Packaging Systems Group I have been given the opportunity to learn many different aspects of our business, which has helped me grow and develop my career. Our management team strongly supports employee training, encouraging everyone to learn new skills and hosting educational sessions to update us on current market trends and product offerings, as well as our Health and Safety progress.
My many years with the Samuel Packaging Systems Group have taught me that while business is always changing, if you hold onto the core values of respect and responsibility, and maintain relationships and integrity, you will always succeed.
