RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 to 7 years combined experience with
    • Audit function of a public accounting firm;
    • Tax function of a public accounting firm; and/or
    • Corporate tax function of a multinational public company
  • A detailed understanding of domestic income tax rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to research tax matters, communicate results and recommend solutions.
  • A solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), the financial statement audit function and the financial reporting of income taxes.
  • Experience in working with different stakeholders (i.e., treasury, accounting, legal) on tax matters.
  • A thorough understanding of the capabilities of, and hands on experience with OneSource Tax Software
  • Experience with preparing claims for Research and Development Tax Credits.
  • Hands on experience with non-income tax matters such as sales tax and property tax
  • CPA required
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Masters degree preferred

Financial Reporting of Income Taxes

  • Responsible for the independent preparation of monthly and annual U.S. income tax provisions, and uncertain tax positions, with minimal supervision.
  • Assist, as needed, in managing external service providers.
  • Responsible for the identification and recommendation of internal controls to standardize policies and procedures to help centralize and support the timely and accurate financial reporting of income taxes.

Compliance

  • Responsible for the calculation and timely remittance of all estimated tax payments, including the use of annual budgets and forecasts to ensure installments are minimized, preparation of all U.S. income tax returns, including annual returns for foreign affiliates and the Country-by-Country report, with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with the collection of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Responsible for working with outside service provider on ensuring all annual report filings are timely filed.
  • Prepare tax fixed asset calculations on a monthly basis (familiarity with Sage preferred)
  • Assist, as needed, in managing external service providers.
  • Responsible for the identification and recommendation of internal controls to standardize policies and procedures to help centralize and support the efficient, timely and accurate preparation of all tax filings.

Controversy

  • Responsible for the drafting of initial responses to all routine tax notices and related correspondence, with minimal supervision.
  • Assist, as needed, with all tax audits.
  • Assist, as needed, in managing external service providers.         

Tax planning/Special projects

  • Responsible to use the knowledge gained from the financial reporting of income taxes, compliance and controversy to identify and recommend tax planning opportunities.
  • Assist, as needed, with tax planning projects.
  • Assist, as needed, in managing external service providers.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional Designation, Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”)
  • Master’s Degree in Taxation or other similar advanced degree preferred

SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products.
    • Ability to analyze general ledger entries efficiently.
  • Knowledge of HFM and its capabilities a plus.

  • Office environment.
