The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for the day to day customer relationships, communication, process improvements, and quality control in a "made to order" manufacturing environment.


  • Maintains a leadership role as a driver of change for continuous improvement of the processes through effective communication and collaboration at all levels in the organization
  • Leads and participates in the APQP process, ensuring all aspects of a new product launch or part modification are accurate and timely
  • Develops control plans, FMEAs, PFMEAs, and PPAPs including submittals to customers in a timely manner
  • Creates and revises shop floor work instructions and ensures they are up to date and effective in conveying requirements to associates
  • Manages QMS documentation and revisions
  • Manages the plant calibration system
  • Develops and maintains quality metrics used to measure plant, customer, and supplier performance
  • Builds and grows customer relationships by providing high levels of service and commitment through excellent service, communication, and quick responses that address customer questions or concerns
  • Resolves customer complaints in a timely manner with focus on acting quickly to respond to the customer's needs
  • Creates and maintains ICARs, SCARs, DMDs, etc. to ensure accurate recording and reporting of nonconformances
  • Utilizes Six Sigma methods to drive continuous improvement of the processes
  • Leads cross functional teams to collaborate and uses the 8D problem solving process to determine the root cause of issues including working with others to develop corrective and preventive actions that are sustainable
  • Other assignments as directed by management


  • B.S in Engineering degree or equivalent from a recognized institution required
  • Sig Sigma Green or Black Belt certification required
  • 5-7 years minimum in a quality engineering/management role within a manufacturing facility.  The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years in the automotive industry in a Quality Engineering role preferred
  • Supervisory experience is desirable
  • Experience with CNC Machines and tube bending is a plus
  • Experience in metrology and calibration systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of G, D & T and use of measurement devices including CMM
  • Experience in managing a certified ISO 9001 or similar QMS
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including strong presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and process/product investigation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) and Gantt charts
