As a member of the Samuel Team, work effectively with staff in your Department, as well as other departments within the organization. Supervise the day to day plant operations.


  • Member of Joint Health and Safety Committee ensuring a safe, clean working environment for all employees with Safety being a # 1 priority
  • Assess and develop training plans for all employees to include the identification and cross training for backup employees
  • Directs processing, packaging and reviews Shoplogix
  • Prioritizes shipments and production processing
  • Participate in product inspection
  • Manages floor stock and inventory
  • Provide guidance, training and support to Foreman and department employees to improve their responsibilities, plant productivity and quality
  • Ensure that a positive, cooperative work environment is maintained and improved for all employees
  • Have open communication with Operations Manager and staff
  • Prepare and implement long and short term objectives
  • Evaluate performance of Foreman and staff employees and discuss their objectives
  • Know and understand Company Policies & Procedure
  • Arranges and leads production meetings with Foreman and plant employees regarding production, quality, safety and concerns of employees
  • Enforce Company Policies & Procedures and ensure QS9001-2015 procedures are followed
  • Have open communication with other Dept. Managers, Supervisors and Foremen
  • Communicate with sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Backup to Logistics and Operations Manager
  • Time / Attendance
  • Other related functions as required


  • Grade 12 education and 2 years experience preferred, or 3-5 years experience in processing/plant knowledge (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Proficient with variopus computer programs (Word, Excel, AS400, etc.)
  • People and communication skills
  • Familiar with OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of equipment and product is an asset
  • Familiar with ISO and QS9001-2015 quality standards
  • Ability to read and write
