Summary

The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of plant production. Keeps production at maximum capacity while working within financial controls. Ensures all required quality and regulatory standards are met. Develops processes for maximizing safety, quality and productivity. Also provides oversight to maintenance and shipping/receiving functions.

This position interacts with all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize work load. Must be able to maintain priorities and complete tasks in an ever changing work environment.

  • Partner and collaborate with corporate functions to assure consistency with the corporate vision and direction
  • Own talent management for the plant including, but not limited to, employee engagement, training and development, performance reviews and succession planning 
  • Lead, support and embrace a Continuous Improvement culture 
  • Ensure production schedules meet the demands  and expectations of customers 
  • Provide for effective labor relations within the plant by ensuring that employment practices are fair and consistent 
  • Manage the plant financial budget and meet key performance indicators aligned with the business  
  • Lead and direct cost and operational improvement initiatives to ensure that the plant is producing and shipping the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost 
  • Ensure all guidelines of safety, ISO and OSHA are in compliance; conduct investigations and root cause analysis of non-compliance
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for all employees in positions assigned to the plant.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Additional hours as necessary.

Travel

Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 5+ years' plant operations experience 
  • Leadership skills that exhibit integrity, ownership and a “can-do" attitude are a must 
  • Decision-making skills with an inherent ability to command, consult, gain consensus and effective delegation 
  • Required knowledge of accepted safety, ISO and OSHA regulations, standards, procedures and guidelines 
  • Expertise in the areas of human relations and team development 
  • SLAM/ALARA and Lean 6S experience a plus
