Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Acquisition and Staffing

  • Work closely with plant Supervisors to assist with hourly recruiting efforts, including preparing job descriptions, job posting, screening, background checks, preparing offer letters, and onboarding of hires.  
  • In collaboration with Human Resources Managers, create a candidate experience that supports the employment brand to include marketing of job opportunities and community relationships.
  • Partner and source with local career centers, career service organizations, educational centers, staffing agencies, and online career boards.


    Employee Relations and Employee Engagement
  • Build relationships at all levels of the business, engaging equally well with leadership and warehouse workforce. 
  • Maintain effective communication channels for all employees.
  • Identify and recommend retention strategies; assist with implementing retention strategies and employee relation initiatives as designated.
  • Assist and advise Supervisors/Managers in the areas of documentation, disciplinary action, and policy administration.  Refer issues as appropriate to HR Manager or others according to the HR Escalation Policy.
  • Work with leadership and HR team to create, address, and implement improvements.
  • Assist with investigations, as required.

     
    Training:
  • Work closely with SPG HR Managers to sustain and enhance the SPG onboarding program to ensure the best success for new hires.
  • Coordinate new hire training and onboarding, and assist with position training throughout all departments to be compliant with HR ISO procedures.
  • Track and verify all required training.

Administration of Benefits and Leaves

  • Partnering with HR Team, play a key role in annual open enrollment, ensuring employees and leaders understand the process and any relevant or impactful plan changes, driving timely and complete participation.
  • Develop and maintain total understanding of Company benefits menu.  Address employee concerns or questions about employee benefit programs, ensuring timely and accurate responses.  Create and leverage plan educational materials as needed.
  • Partner with HR Managers in the administration of employee leaves: FMLA, STD, LTD etc.  Contribute to program review and revisions as appropriate.

     
    Compliance:
  • Contribute to annual compliance reporting requirements, including but not limited to AAP, VETS-4212, and EEO-1.
  • Ensure all SPSG hourly employee files are appropriately maintained and in compliance.
  • Respond to employee and management questions related to HR programs, policies and compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the region's in-branch state, federal and Samuel posting requirements
  • Participate in revising policies and procedures as assigned and disseminate changes to employees in specific locations.
  • Remain updated on State/Federal laws applicable to area of responsibility.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

  • High degree of fluency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Periodic travel within the US of up to 10% required (other plants: Fort Mill, SC and Cartersville, GA).
  • Ability to prioritize and switch directions, work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to self-start and self-motivate under very limited supervision required. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle pressures of deadlines, diverse assignment loads and high work volumes.
