Job Description:

The Director of Marketing Programs and Brand Management is responsible for all activities related to marketing programs/communications development & tracking, internal/external communications, customer experience; voice of the customer research, and brand development/management.

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand business (Service Center, Manufacturing, and Auto/Aero segment) objectives/results and manage relationships with top Regional VPs, Mfg Group presidents, and segment Head(s) as well as senior sales leaders and their teams
  • Develop annual marketing plan, budget and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary in support of organizational strategy and objectives
  • Manage marketing services department, including development and distribution of all marketing collateral
  • Work closely with Strategic Marketing team to leverage data, analytics and customer insights to develop market-relevant programs and to identify priority initiatives
  • Provide marketing skills and expertise to the company by building, developing and managing a marketing team capable of carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics
  • Ensure all communications (internal and external) are coordinated through the revamp of our intranet and development of our media relations / PR (execution & governance)
  • Build awareness and/or change perception of Samuel in our growth markets
  • Develop integrated marketing programs, communications (online, web, print, PR etc), campaigns, direct marketing, promotions, advertising, social media, trade shows, and events to launch, develop, or generate leads/market demand to further develop products, markets and promote capabilities
  • Develop go-to-market programs, including demand generation activities, and sales enablement tools.
  • Develop the skills of the marketing team members and collaborate with sales leaders across the business units
  • Create custom content to support local marketing requirements to develop business opportunities, support selling strategies and prospecting efforts with targeted demand generation programs (upselling, cross-selling and new sales initiatives)
  • Keep abreast of competitive programs and market trends and opportunities in the metals and related businesses as context for this work13.         Manage the development and flawless execution of marketing programs and campaigns across enterprise, from advertising and promotions to high-touch, in-person customer experiences to digital marketing experiences, to maximize reach and engagement
  • Establish, track and manage marketing ROI, sharing best practices and learnings to get the biggest return for marketing budget
  • Ensure adherence to brand standards and align programs with key messaging for Samuel
  • Leverage resources of existing team and/or external agency to execute – graphics, writing, digital marketing, etc
  • Work closely with operations, engineering and sales teams to better understand customer needs. Partner to develop effective sales tools and content to drive impact and ROI
  • Develop, implement and manage a customer experience strategy to actively pulse our customers
  • Serve as a role model for marketing, fostering and promoting a mindset and culture of marketing excellence in the region.

Qualifications:

  • Business degree
  • Marketing specialization a plus
  • 10+ years' experience in marketing
  • Must have a strong understanding of go-to-market strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience in product marketing, integrated marketing, and/or brand management experience in a B2B.
  • Industry knowledge of metals or manufacturing a plus. 
  • Track record of demonstrated success delivering business impact through marketing initiatives.
  • Experience with the full marketing mix and knowledgeable on current marketing communications trends and practices. Fluent in digital marketing and utilization within a holistic marketing program.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written, oral, listening, influencing, coaching, strategic communication planning). A convincing communicator with compelling perspectives and knowledge of industry and marketing trends and innovations. 
  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of the customer, the competition and issues impacting business coupled with the ability to use this information to shape communications and strategies.
