As the Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will
act primarily as the 'voice of the process' and track critical and significant
characteristic(s) of process performance to ensure compliance with Customer
In this independent and hands on role, you will ensure that scheduled layered audits are being performed and analyzed to identify improvement opportunities. Your communication skills and customer first mentality will be valuable as you work with customers on any non-conformance reported. You will ensure responses to complaints are completed on time using the required system defined by the customer.
You will also:
Analyze product / process audit results and report findings to management to assure quality product that is in accordance with the Company's standards and all customer specifications.
Collect and clarify information on HELD non-conforming material, disposition of held material and support Mill and Customer representative to ensure timely submission and resolution of non-conforming material reports.
Review HELD material on a daily basis and report trends to Operations Supervision. Utilize First Time Quality (FTQ) strategy as a rigid and structured preventive methodology.
Prepare and maintain all PPAP documents such as Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flows, and Production Check sheets and submit to customers when required.
Lead in the Corrective Action process for External Issues received from Customers, including the monitoring of Customer web sites for any non-conforming reports issued and Supplier Quality Alerts posted.
Support Regional branches on improvement planning, risk analysis, corrective actions and NCR's.
Ensures company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors. Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required at all times.
Maintains a high standard of general housekeeping consistent with 5S standards.
Influence Regional compliance to ISO 9001:2015.
CQT or CQE certification is an asset
1-2 years of related experience in a steel industry
Exposure to Quality Management Systems
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans and PFEMA
Self-motivated and seeks continuous learning
Effective organization & planning skills/experience required
Must be a strong communicator with effective listening, verbal and written skills
Able to conduct analysis, problem solve (including root cause analysis) and produce reports
