Job Description:

​The Sales Manager will be in charge of growing the profitability of the long product business and coaching and mentoring the sales employees.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • True sales – enhance current position, venture into new products, explore new opportunities

  • Be a leader and advisor to the sales team; focused on sales enablement, reporting & analytics, strategy & planning

  • Define quarterly objectives and drive the team to hit key milestones to increase new business and grow existing share of wallet

  • Push for use of data driven decision making by utilizing market knowledge, reporting and analytics

  • Build a collaborative and supportive environment for the sales team to promote engagement

  • Establish and take actions based on strategic objectives, forecast, and performance metrics

  • Be available to help with operational and non-sales related issues to enable the efficiency of the sales force

  • Enhance sales productivity by enabling the team to work smarter by simplifying processes, and providing easy access to critical information and resources needed to close sales

  • Creatively solve the sales team’s biggest challenges

  • Gather insights, feedback, and best practices while building solid relationships with the sales team, operations, quality, purchasing & business development - Ensure feedback and data is shared cross functionally

  • Drive change and remove hurdles by working cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Finance, Quality etc.

 

Qualifications:

  • College or university education required

  • Training in insight selling strategies an asset

  • 5-7 years in a sales role preferably in a B2B, metals or industrial setting

  • Minimum 3-5 of experience in a sales management role

  • Service Center background an asset

  • Business mindset and results oriented

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Problem solving attitude

  • Expertise in sales management cycle

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Some ERP experience an asset
