Steel Day, presented by the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC), is a national event for service centers, steel fabricators, mills and others in the metals industry to open their facilities to the public to see first-hand how steel is an important part of our community. As a Corporate National Member of CISC, numerous Samuel, Son & Co., Limited locations participated in the special day, this year held on September 23, 2011.
Samuel’s Nash Road facility in Hamilton, ON, Canada was also involved in the region’s “Steel Industry Forum”. The City of Hamilton, known as the “Steel Capital of Canada” for being the largest single producer for the steel industry in Canada, initiated the Steel Industry Forum as another way to capitalize on leading industry knowledge. Samuel’s Corporate Vice-President of Canadian Operations, Tom McGrogan, was a keynote speaker at the forum.
Our participants would like to thank the organizers for a unique opportunity to share information about Samuel's network of metals services, our new innovative directions into the energy markets, our prospective of the steel industry and our long-standing relationship with the City of Hamilton.
